PlaidSong are heading off to NZ once again and looking forward to meeting up with friends and family we met along the way last time we were out there. We had an amazing two month visit back in Dec 2023 into Jan 2024 and we are getting ready to travel once more!

One of the places we are revisiting is Waipu - we wrote about this place in an earlier blog but it has great memories for us and we made some good friends and we are visiting this time to make a little music with an acoustic folk group there.

Our wee gigs in NZ are just for fun, getting folk together, playing music and sharing stories and songs. Music is an incredibly sociable and enjoyable way of meeting others through a shared love of trad music, history and incredible stories.

We also revisit Dunedin and will meet up with friends and some folks from the local folk club - there might be a bit of golf as well as music in Dunedin!

We set off on the first of February and have a few things firmed up but also, we might just make our way to some new places too, see where our travels take us. This trip is a shorter one, we are in NZ for just under 4 weeks and mostly in South Island. We will catch up with some of my family, a great bit of family history there as my grandfather's sister moved out there around 1948 so we will be meeting some of my many and wonderful cousins!
