About the Event

This information from the Burns Club of London:

William Will Evening Tuesday 18 Feb 2025 – The Life and Songs of Robert Tannahill 1774-1810

Be sure to join us for a fabulous evening with Prof David Purdie hailed as “arguably our finest after-dinner speaker” and the singing duo Plaidsong - Nicky Small and Syd House - who “combine authenticity with musicality to create captivating renditions of a wide range of Scottish songs”.  They sing Burns, of course, Lady Nairne and now Robert Tannahill. This is a first-rate line-up, not to be missed. We were disappointed that David Purdie was absent from our Festival Dinner “marooned in Fife” as he put it by the weather but now we have another chance to hear him speak on the life of Robert Tannahill.  His talk will be illustrated, while Plaidsong will give us the songs: an aural and visual delight. The event is being held…
