PlaidSong were delighted to be contacted by Lorna and Dave from Craigie about playing there, we said yes right away! They are a well-established folk club and regularly host some fantastic performers, the programme for the coming season looks great and we are really pleased to be joining them later this month.
We do all kinds of performances and events - you can see from our blogs we were at a garden party this summer and we do Burns Suppers and we also do private gigs, we are happy to be asked to play at private functions - like our Rotarians on their vintage car tour this summer. We did a lunchtime session for a Canadian Ladies group in Perth recently, just a little history, music and stories after a lovely lunch with some amazing women! We made sure we sang songs that highlight women in Scots music, Lady Nairne, Violet Jacob and some of our favourite Jacobite heroines too, the songs and history were very well received. We love it when we are bringing something new to folk with our music, so many people don't know who Lady Nairne was - her songs are some of our favourites.
