The Life, Songs & Times of Lady Nairne (1766-1845), Scotland’s Songstress
PlaidSong are bringing the life and times of Perthshire’s songstress, Carolina, Lady Nairne to the Big Shed at Tombreck on November 25th. We will be looking at the life experience of Lady Nairne who was born in 1766 into the Jacobite Oliphants of Gask. She wrote some of our best known traditional songs including The Rowan Tree and Charlie is my Darling. We will be singing these and other favourites but also bringing some new arrangements and songs into our performance. We hope you can join us!
